Short Shifter & Clutch Help

I'm looking to buy a short shift kit and both sets of upgraded bushings for my Evo IX SSL.

Basically I want the throws to be quite a bit shorter but I don't really want to change the height of the shifter itself. Also I want to be able to swap the stock shifter back in easily without having to buy extra parts.

I've searched around and see the Works short shifter seems good with about 30% shorter throws. I found it at maperformance.com for $128.99 shipped. It looks like they offer an option between 15 and 30% shorter throws, but I don't see that option on the Worksevo site. Anybody have any feedback as to how much more effort is required with the 30%?

Also I have read several threads on bushings, and realize there are two different types that you can get. I want to get whatever will give the most solid shifting without putting any more stress on the tranny. Please let me know your recommendations.

And finally, I've seen threads on here about removing a clutch restrictor pill and putting on a SS clutch line. Is this recommended? I will only be driving this on the street. Right now it feels like the clutch grabs too high up for me, and I know you can adjust it.

Will the short shifter put more wear and tear on tranny?

What about the bushings? What material and should I get both sets?

I believe this and a short shifter is all Eric has in his car and it feels good to me.

I recently purchased the Authority short shifter from lancershop.com and use the Greddy counterweight knob. Price on their website for the short shifter is $60. Installation was easy and shipping was fast too. I also purchased and installed the brass bushings at the same time and shifting feels a lot more solid. It was money well spent.

I went ahead and got the Works shifter mainly because it has good reviews and can be swapped right back to stock without breaking any thing.

Aren't there two sets of bushings: Underhood and direct link ones?

Which set are best to replace or should I do both at the same time?

Do both of the shifter bushings ar the same time! They make a HUGE difference! I might have to look into a shifter also! Does Work have them instock right now?

If you're replacing the shifter, you might as well replace the shifter base bushings too, since it's easily accessible already cause everything is apart. The underhood bushings are easy to install too and both can be done in little to no time at all.

I didn't buy them from Works directly, I bought from the site listed in my original post. $129 shipped.
