Meth is something tried and true for YEARS before even DSM's -Turbo Buick guys have been running injection since the early 80's.

You want power, stick to 100% meth .

pps. Great numbers bud!

It's still relevant, because it may help him do even better without changing his setup at all other than spraying 100% meth. That's just a retune away from potentially more power for no extra money.

I think it depends on the 'starting point', ie 93 octane or Import. 93 octane will continue to improve with more %'age of meth and more than likely isn't running the maximum boost level that would be afforded to the Import fuel (or Q16, C16). The advantage to adding water comes in to play at higher boosts that AREN'T fuel limited already. Import has the octane to handle the boost and doesn't need the methanol for additional octane (not sure it that it really doesn't lower it). But the hotter air from higher boost can be improved by lowering the intake temps, which is what the water/meth will add over the 100% meth, when running a non-octane limited fuel/boost combination. That was a horrible explanation. Hope it makes sense. It's at least my own opinion and I've tested it to a minor degree on the dyno.

scheides, that would be gr8! i've been wondering for a while what to use and what ratios (meth, alcohol, etc...)

shameless, gr8 results, waiting for the cams/tune
what cams do you intend to use???

9sec9, so basically if you are running c16 let's say, the best would be running 100% water, not even 50/50, right??

Thanks Warrtalon. It's the way I've always looked at it, whether it's right or not. That's why I've recommended to many 'w/m injectors' to not use water unless their boost is above 30 or so. (Arbitrary number of mine). We tested it without knowing true boost (gauge only) and showed gains on 101 +water/meth at 'maxed' gauge pressure( whatever the hell that meant ) and showed about 8 whp gain over 100% meth. Cool down period, etc could have accounted for some of that, but gains were shown none-the-less. Sorry, Shameless, but you know me...motormouth.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I'll be heading to New England Dragway sometime in July, after two track days at NHIS with COMSCC.

I went with 50% water for cooling capacity, especially at road courses. Pushing a small turbo to the edge of its efficiency results in hotter air. I'm sure 100% meth would result in a higher effective octane, but with water I can remove more 93 from the mix and increase my effective octane rating simply by running leaner than a straight meth spray

Increase octane by running leaner? Errrrr...

If you did it for road racing, I wouldn't be running that much boost or power anyway. I would throw in race gas with the meth and stay away from the edge.

Increase octane because the meth flow stays the same but the 93 flow is getting less and less.

Great numbers! I cant wait till I get my EVO X running like that, because I sure do miss all that power I had in my EVO IX.

I'm not sure that makes sense. Without water, you have much more meth, and the meth burns as fuel in the cylinders, so it allows you to use much less 93. The more water you have, the more 93 you need, because water does not burn as fuel. Don't you have that idea backwards? Plus, the meth is what gives the higher octane anyway, not water.

More water = lower octane with better cooling
More meth = higher octane with lesser cooling

The net effect is better with 100% meth in terms of knock supression, because the extra octane outweighs the extra cooling. That is unless you are running high octane fuel to begin with and can leverage the injection for just cooling purposes (all or mostly water). With 93, it's better with more meth...

Looking good shameless.

One question, why is it taking a 20whp+ crap at 66XX rpm? Boost drop a ton there?

It didn't like 23° of timing ... I probably should have printed one of the other 392 pulls, but that dip is 4 counts of knock
