TTP piston drop in project - amazing!
Ok, I now it's not new...but after hesitated long time if to go this way, I've decided to contact Scott from TTP: I must say that Scott was more than helpful with any advise and supplied me the amazing JE custom piston set, with other goodies which I will detail.
I've decided to show you the complete upgrade drop in piston project with detailed pictures, so here we go...
So first, to the most sexy pistons I've ever seen anywhere

i did the same setup but with wisecos last year. Dropped them right in. Unless your looking for huge #'s, i think its the best way to go. I didnt change the bearings though, i reused them.
manley rods are serious, I love them. Only thing I wasnt crazy about is the weight. Feel how heavy they are when you get your stock rods out. They must be twice the weight

ok, very exciting to see how are my 25,000 miles engine look inside, preparing to remove the head from block
MAF
amazing surprise, the pistons wall retained the original honing in a perfect way, so everything will go according to the program, so far...
removing the oil sump to release the rods from the bottom end
pistons and rods are out, we have progress now
as you can see from the color of the pistons, the tuning was perfect before I've started this project, so its a healthy engine to upgrade further more

next, is the most scary work I've considered: the honing, I've decided to use the Fexhone toll
I've decided to do very easy honing: just 20 seconds each cylinder just to break the glazing out the walls
it came perfect...I think the secret is not over doing, as you don't wish to change the size of the bore
and yes, we've removed the oiling system that was disturbing the honing...

Nice write up! Loving the pictures! Looks like mine will be there shortly, I got a very slight rod knock on the way home today at lunch time. Just another excuse to upgrade! LOL

just before we drop in all this goodies, let's compare the stock items to the new:
yes, you are all surprised how those OEM rods could handle the power, compare to the MANLEY Turbo tough rods, yes Mitsubishi miracles.....
now everything is ready for the drop...
