a quest. for you guys

does anyone mix toluene and 93oct gas??
toluene has an octane rating of 114, but some say that when mixed with 93oct its octane becomes 100 due to some chemical reation (so you use 100 to calculate your final octane instead of 114).

Any imput on this??

I used to mix xylene with 93 (for my DSM) but since I've discovered 110 leaded I haven't looked back. You used to be able to buy xylene at Sherman Williams in a 5 gallon bucket for about $30. I'm sure prices have gone up. Its really not worth it any more.

You doing 30psi on stock head bolts?
Have you seen stock head bolts stretch? I still have stock head bolts and have probably 400-500 drag passes with half at least above 25psi. I have been running 26+psi daily since November of 2005. I don't plan to install my head studs until my head gets rebuilt or removed for some other reason.

I c... but blending 1/3 of toluene / xylene (114oct) with 2/3 of pump 93oct would yield a 100oct final producted (supposedly). Will this be the same as buying 100oct. fuel (fuel that already comes as 100oct) ?? anyone have tried this?

I skipped the headstuds too, and have yet to hear any stories about stretching.

No. Sounds like a huge PITA to me. I split my 110 leaded 50/50 with 93 octane for a blend of 100+ octane. I run conservative timing and can get away with pretty much any boost level on 100 but my clutch doesn't like to hold more than 25psi especially off the line with sticky tires.
