Installed a HeadGames head: dyno tested – new records!
Ok, so my internals upgrade as I posted earlier -
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=353292
Was a part of my upgrade for my new custom made head buy the one and the only legendary “Head Muster” Mr. David Localio the owner of HeadGames Motorworks. Whit this last upgrade we tuned the car whit MoTec M800 from my previous EcuTek tune, to make the most of what I have in the car.
Except to that I haven’t changed anteing in my setup, so the factor of my now performance is mainly the HeadGames head.
The full spec of my car will not be revealed at this time, but the main thing is that my setup is billed for day to day drive pump fuel based on 2.0L Evo-8 engine and the Turbo is Evo-9 twin scrawl, BUT heavily modified unit (pleas don’t ask me as to this turbo now), all to produce virtually NO LEG, early max torque that will hold plat on and on…. And will give power and torque on wide carve that no one did whit a on 2.0L Mitsubishi Turbo!
Is it possible???????? Let see 1st the dynapack plot:
So whit HeadGames head at the Dynapack we got 461WHP and Torque is 436 lbft vs the stoke head 398 WHP and Torque was 405 lbft!

Couple Things Here,
First, no disrespect intended toward the OP or headgames, but your statement the the plot should mainly show the gains from the head is not correct.
Unless I am mistaken, in going to motec stand alone you:
a. ditched the factory maf and went to speed density
b. are no longer limited by the stock ecu knock detection routine
Both of the above will allow you to produce more power with the same parts.
Second, why is the power dropping off so much after 6K? From the plot, you are dropping 80 whp between 5750 and 7500. I would assume you have fat boost in the midrange and it's falling off fast after 6K?

Whoah! A little big now! Its not hard, just make an 800x600 image and leave it at that. That's probably too big even
So how can you gain 40whp from a ported head on an IX turbo? Sounds a little far-fetched. Surely you have removed the MAF housing with your new ECU and are running more boost on top of that?
Great numbers none-the-less.

Boost at previews tune was max at 1.8bar and now is 1.9bar. and yes no MAF now, but 3bar MAP sensor.
