That looks a lot like the DSM Race manifold Magnus made a couple years ago. The owner of Modern Automotive Performance used to have one. Didn't know Marco made them for the Evo. Magnus stuff rocks!

As mentioned, looks just like the older Magnus race intakes for the DSM.

What ever it is, it looks very poorly constructed.

Well, I like my Magnus just fine. So, now what do we do? Death match for me and your friend?

How can you "like" it if you did not test it? And if you did test it, why did you not post the results in the dozens of threads bad mouthing it?

crcain, do you "test" and post every mod you run on your car? I thought not...

Well, I used deductive reasoning based on a local shop that runs it here, plus Aby has a weapon-r intake which is similar in design and he (or I....can't remember) posted his results with that particular piece in one of the drama-laden Magnus threads. Of course, that kind of data didn't get much attention.

IN FACT, HERE IS THE THREAD I POSTED A LINK TO IN ONE OF THE AFOREMENTIONED FECES-CHUCKING CONTESTS (people seemed to prefer drama to additional 3rd party data):

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ntake+manifold

However, we may have some more test results here soon for you...but no definite time table.

Besides, are you trying to tell me you're giving my comment a hard time as opposed to third-party hearsay about the Magnus piece being a POS from someone's friend? Are you serious?

No I don't... BUT... I would not post in a thread about a product and say I "like" it without knowing if the part helped or hurt me. Take for example the custom spec Piper cams I run. I've never said anything good or bad about Pipers because they went in my car with a new built motor. So maybe they suck compared to the competition I don't know. That was my point.

I'm not trying to be argumentative. I run the Magnus Race. If someone says they like it, I'm gonna assume they tested it to some degree. Turns out it seems you have not tested it, much less run it. I just wanted clarification.

I'm switching to the HKS inlet soon and will test that swap no other changes.

If you're trying not to be argumentative, you did a mediocre job. Maybe this fits under the "ridiculous lack of testing by vendors" category, a thread you started some time ago. However...

I posted data for the Weapon-R, which is VERY SIMILAR in design to the Magnus. I have seen charts for the Magnus (I have the delta gains charts, but I can't find them at the moment) for a local shop owner who runs our throttle body and the Magnus. Based upon what I've seen with regards to past performance, I am extrapolating what I expect to see when I put the Magnus on. If we took the narrow approach that you seem to be taking, no one would have a clue as to what a turbo back would do until they "tested" it and put it on their car.
