Okay guys, I hate to bring this back, but I'm going to the strip tomorrow, hopefully to help clear this up.

As this is my first time running the car, I'm not naive enough to think I'll rip 60 foots good enough for a good ET. Trap speed is another story. What should I be aiming for with these modifications? What do 330ish whp stock turbo IXs usually trap?

Also, what is the best method of rolling out of the box to test trap speed and not ET? I was planning on just slipping it at 3k or so to minimize lag.

you should trap at least 110, and low 12s if you're a good driver - at least mid 12s if you're not such a great driver.

and if you have no clue to launch - expect a 13.0

edit: just launch it the best you can and shift fast for your mph.

It's a waste of time if you do that, because rolling off the line will also skew the traps. If you try to slip from 3k off the line, it will hurt the clutch worse than a full launch. Just do normal launches with high tire pressure and have fun, then you'll see your proper trap speeds and decent ETs.

With 330whp on a Dynojet, you usually see 111-112mph traps. You probably won't reach 110 with the numbers we see here, especially with it being the dead of summer. The hotter it is, the less power you make. Dynos with the SAE or STD correction turned on will change the numbers in the heat, but drag strips don't.

Okay, thanks a lot. Just one question. "High tire pressure" = what with the stock A046s?

this was on a dynojet? then i'd have to think its a bit low for a IX w/ those mods. I actually think i can get alot more out of mine... figuring mine is on the low side too, but you should be at least at my figures or more.
I did 317whp / 328tq on a Mustang Dyno. But i did use 24psi peak / taper to 20psi. Just intake/exhaust mods and tune from TTP.

couldn't agree with you more.

you gained 40 whp from little mods on pump gas.... your power band is there.. what are you worried about? do you want the dyno to say 500 hp but the power is not there?

Well, I'm back. I made three passes on 93 octane. It was around 70-75 degrees. We set tire pressure to 35 psi up front and 32 in back so it would spin a bit off the line.

Run 1: 13.363 at 103.23 mph with 1.869 60 foot (missed 3rd gear)
Run 2: 13.081 at 107.00 mph with 2.028 60 foot
Run 3: 12.858 at 107.04 mph with 1.881 60 foot

Keep in mind this was my first time EVER launching the car, so I am quite happy with my 60 foots. Lower tire pressure would probably net even better ones, right?

But more important is the trap. Does 107 mph confirm what the dyno said? If it matters, I was at the very top of 4th when I went through the trap.

All this concern over numbers. I used to be that way also, but after leaving AMS with my dyno tune, I have the confidence of knowing that my car is gonna hold together during the extreme conditions of a track. My numbers were suprisingly low for what I was expecting, but now when I go back I know where I am at.

Yes, that 107 mph does correlate with your dyno numbers. My car dyno'd 275 whp stock at their dyno. It trapped at 105-106 mph over at GLD.
