Got dynoed today, not sure what to think

I was super excited when I woke up this morning because today is the day I got my downpipe and boost controller installed and got flashed by AMS. The car certainly pulls harder now, and the butt dyno says it was well worth the money, but the numbers aren't quite what I was expecting. Car is a IX MR with 18,000 miles.

Bone stock it put down 258 whp and 262 lb-ft on AMS's dyno.

Mods as of now are as follows:

GReddy Ti catback
DC Sports Downpipe/Cat Delete
AEM Tru Boost (tuned for 23 psi peak, falls to 20-21 at redline)
Blitz SUS Power LM drop-in filter
AMS Custom Flash

After being tuned by AMS, it put down 289 whp and 299 lb-ft and finally 294 whp and 290 lb-ft . So call it 294 whp and 299 lb-ft. On the same dyno. This is on 93 octane. A/F is 11.5:1 under load. Again, 23 psi peak, falls to 20-21 at redline.

That's a gain of 36 whp and 37 lb-ft over stock. Nothing to sneeze at, I know, but I was under the impression that IX's responded considerably better to mods. Maybe I'm naive, but I was expecting at least 320. From day one it seems like everyone has been telling me that TBE, drop-in filter, boost controller and flash will put a IX closer to 350 whp than 300. Was I wrong to expect this? I'm fine with that, but to not even break 300 whp!?

Before anyone says it, I am NOT suggesting AMS tuned it poorly. I know no one could get more out of it safely than them. I guess I'm just seeking closure. I know all dynos read differently, but it's not the outright power that worries me. It's that the mods and a tune somehow weren't enough to get over 40 extra whp or torque. Something about that doesn't sit right with me. What happened to the ridiculous gains I've always heard about IXs getting with basic bolt-ons and a tune? Could other people with similarly modded IXs please chime in? Is this normal?

I'll gladly provide the dyno sheets if requested.

Was the baseline done today? If not, what were the temps both times.

Are your plugs fresh?

Were you running gas from the same station?

Could have been a lot of things, but I would defidently expect more gains if it were apples to apples (ex. same dyno, same day)

you also have to factor in dyno, temp, and gas

On a dyno jet that seems a bit low for a IX. but dyno number are just numbers if u feel its great then thats the important thing.

It was definitely hotter today than during baseline. Today was around 85, I think.

Not sure if my plugs are fresh. Car doesn't have much mileag, so I'm guessing so.

Gas not from the same station, but 93 octane is 93 octane, right?

And I'm not sure what AMS's dyno type is, but they told me it does read pretty low compared to a lot of dynoes.

Here's a vid of a different IX MR on their dyno. Apparently, 330 whp with not much more than me...

I think it seems pretty reasonable, maybe a tad on the low side for a IX, but hey every car is different.
positive no boost leaks?
I made 330whp and 310 tq on my evo8 mods were same downpipe with a custom 3" caback, magnaflow muffler. Hks 272, aem intake, evo9 bov, ebay intercooler, mbc 22psi tapering to 19.5, afr around 11.2-11.5.
I'd throw a full intake and some decent cams at it and get re-tuned on 93 and some sort of race gas, see what it does then.

Plugs, Boost Leaks, Temperature, gas, even fresh oil All can make a difference.

Any Clutch slipage?

Seems low yea but have fun with it for now then upgrade to a green or something

Temps make a difference, theres #1

If you were on a stock tune before, they run rich from the factory, that makes plugs go bad, get new plugs

**Not all gas is created equal. My car is tuned on Sheetz 93, if I run other 93s the car doesnt run as good. Other 93 oct. gases don't seem as knock resistant on my car

Temp changes are offset by the built-in correction factor unless they set it to uncorrected. AMS uses a Dynojet, and although Dynojets typically read the same around the world, the AMS one reads lower for some reason. Even so, I'd consider this low for those mods on a IX.
