Instead of asking about dyno's you should be looking at people that have run their junk at the track.

Stock turbo EVO9s with aftermarket cams normally aren't any faster than those with stock cams. If anything most of us are gear limited in the 1/4 mile.

Before adding cams to a pump gas tune I would instead look at adding octane and cranking the boost. Maybe look at cams AFTER a turbo upgrade.

Right now, I'm out of gear, out of injector, out of turbo, and out of RPM (7800). For me, adding cams will do nothing but possibly add lag.

From what I've read, on the IX S1s are intended for better driveability and the M2s are for big numbers on the stock turbo. Also you don't need to upgrade springs and retainers on the M2s unless your revving over 8k.

You decide if its worth it.

I feel no difference in power, maybe a little more midrange.

If i had to do it again, i would stay stock cams on stock turbo.

I think the S1's have better driveability, which can be important if it is your daily drive

look at the a link in my sig, it compares s1's vs. m2's on a evo 8 with a fp-grn on 91 octane. the numbers are from a dj. only chageds are cams + the tune...i tune the car myself=same tuner.

i made 414.9 vs. the 415.+ on the same cal file & 91 octane, so i would say the reese tuning dyno repeats....i then tried some ms109 & discovered a few an issues.......oh well. the car still runs like a beast on 91 octane.

i had a boost issue when trying for some super numbers.....next time!!

if your into drivability & strong power over top end peak numbers, gsc s1's....all the way.

search my name in the tech forum, i did a decent write-up compare.....but it is in a evo 8. the 9's get a more aggreessive intake cam from cosi over the e8 cams....

why are you wanting m2 on your stock turbo? Are you planning to switch later?
I have S1's and I gained about 20whp just dropping em in, and additional 30whp after a jestr tune.(350/340 on dynojet)
I can chime in to you that S1 on stock turbo FTW. You can really get the torque as DD(which my car is) and still rip at track(no, not 1/4 mile, but road race)

No I have not had any experience with cosworth, however.

after JB tune, I ran 340/340 on DynoDynamics which can roughly be estimated 360ish on dynojet which is better gain. another guy with stock 9 turbo and S2's ran 351 on the same dyno and same torque, though mine peaked tad faster.

Just understand your need to your car and how you want your car to drive. Don't let your friends decide what is best for your car. In this point, hearing your setup, I highly suggest S1 not for overall higher HP but overall improvement on your powerband.

That's just my opinion, just offering it.
Good luck on your search for HP

The m3's, with a turbo that big your gonna want 280's.

I gotta talk to my tuner and see what he says.

After readying just about every cam thread I can find....... I've come to the conclusion that a bolt on EVO9 with stock snail should get the GSC S1s and call it a day.

So you think I'll see the biggest improvement with those? How much higher will I be able to rev? Right now I shift at like 6,700 because my boost starts dropping when I get up high.

Cams aren't going to fix your boost falling problem.

The S1s seem to provide more midrange at no expense of spool. They don't make huge gains up top because more stock turbos can't even out flow the stock mivec cams up top.

If you aren't using the GM 3 port to control boost that would be the first step in fixing you deflating boost issue. I would do that before investigating cams.

Keep Stock Cams With Stock Turbo!!!!!!!!!! Wait till you upgrade the turbo to upgrade cams. Do not waste your money like me. Its not faster, its a lumpier idle and its all in your head.
