1. Mustang dyno reads lower than a Dynojet. That's a given. It doesn't read A WHOLE lot lower though (what...5-8% or so?).
add 10% to that and you would be closer.

350 on a dynojet would probably read about 300 on a properly setup Mustang.

We've had guys that have made 400 on a dynojet, make around 355 or so on our mustang. I've also seen an Evo that made a claimed 400 on a socal DynoDynamics make 305 on a Mustang, But of course, every dyno is different so comparing dynos is probably the number one reason for the huge Evom Fog(tm).

Thanks for your input! Let's tackle this from a more specific angle. A 50hp difference between a dynojet and a Mustang dyno would probably be overcome by a difference in boost by 4psi? Agreed?

Now you are getting into a realm of alot more variables. 4psi more peak? 4psi more up top? Won't happen with a stock turbo. It will taper no matter what. Timing changes with that boost? Different turbo? more flow mods?

Possibilities are infinite.

The dyno is a tool, pure and simple. The more people that start to understand that, the thinner the Evom Fog will be.

I completely understand the notion of "The dyno is a tool". I am not here to start any disputes over which dyno is better. If I was, I'd say that a dynapack is the best dyno to tune on. Anyways, it all comes down to how the car performs on the track, but even with that you have many variables (i.e., driver, track prep, elevation, etc.).

In my example, I was simply stating that, while all other variables remaining constant, a 4psi gain could make up a 50hp difference. Case in point: at 1.5psi more my Evo made 14hp more (an even more impressive 31ft-lbs more!).

I am simply stating that comparing two different Evos, on two different brand of Dynos, that are known to read much different, and then throwing in yet another variable of change, is recockulious, and from what I have seen over the years, is a perfect recipe for disappointment. At that point, it's just number chasing, which is not what dynos should be used for.

If I had a magic wand that could eliminate all the "My car should make this on this dyno cause it made this on this dyno, and my friends boyfriends Evo makes this on this dyno in Kansas" statements on this board, I would have used it years ago, with a big smile on my face.

You are correct. Let's end this debate and keep things positive.
