Soon-to-be EVO IX RS owner looking for 400whp on stock turbo...

Like the title says, I'm a soon-to-be EVO IX RS owner that's looking for 400whp utilizing the stock turbo. This is what I'm thinking:

1.Cone intake w/ adapter

2. 3 inch TBE (I'm really thinking Megan Racing O2 housing-->3 inch DP-->3 inch piping all the way back to where the muffler WOULD BE located, then have the pipe made into a turn-down...so NO muffler.) **I'm coming from a C5 with Longtube catless headers into borla strait pipes so I don't think exhaust volume is a prob ...correct me if I'm wrong.

3.Labonte Meth kit

4.MBC

5.ECU Re-flash

6.GSC S1 cams (These will work with the OEM valvetrain, right?)

7.Walbro 255lph drop-in pump & injectors(I think some would be needed but I need some direction here. I might upgrade to the Buschur 20G later on.)

Oh...the car has 13k miles so I plan on riding the stock clutch for a while. (I have NO intentions of launching the vehicle whatsoever.

Is this the way to go? Is there any better/easier/cheaper way? I plan on trading my corvette in on this car on my next day off. I have a "date" set with the salesman on Wednesday 7/9/08. Thanks!

Give TTP a call. They should be able to take care of you and the mods you will need. There are a couple of us running around 400hp with bolt ons/cams, and meth.

Who would you recommend to do the re-flash? For instance, with my corvette, I installed my mods & N2O & everything, then drove up to Mike Norris @ Next Level in Altamonte. He just had to strap the car to the dyno then work his magic. Are these cars like that too? There is nothing needed like Hondata for a Honda or anything like that, right?

Give 4WheelSlide a call for a sick tune, awesome mod advice, and great customer service. I see that you are actually going with a Labonte meth kit. IIRC, he gives discount tunes if you buy a Labonte kit through him.

Missing intercooler upgrade and piping.

Im sure you would need to do some porting work to your stock exhaust manifold as well as your turbo hotside.

And yes, You will need a dyno tune.

Would an intercooler be a necessity with meth? Oh..I forgot a better BOV. Can I vent to atmosphere or must it be plumbed back in?

I would say yes. With meth, you'll be running a lot more boost and the stock turbo will be almost maxed. The stock intercooler is not going to be able to cool the air from the turbo for sh.t with the increase in flow.

Okay...upgrade the FMIC. Which cams though? I'm looking for something that'll work with the stock valvetrain. I might upgrade the turbo to a Buschur 20G later on.

The cams are good - stock valvetrain is good - do FMIC and piping (do short-route with mini-battery) due to the big boost you'll be running. There is no reason to run without a muffler, and if you want big power, then skip the Megan. Just get a Buschur catless with Bullet muffler - or equivalent - and go crazy with the rest.

Do a Forge RS BOV and recirculate it. Don't VTA until you get rid of the MAF.
