replacement oil temp gauge

It has to be tapped to get it to read sometimes. I want to put an aftermarket one in its place. Does anyone know if I can use the wiring already going to the gauge for an aftermarket gauge? I dont need anything fancy, maybe just an autometer. I also plan on getting rid of the stock boost gauge and replacing it with an a/f meter. I think I should also replace the voltage meter at the same time, jsut to give the gauge pod a uniform look. Anyone have experiance with this ?

Its been done several times.

You can buy pre molded pods that fit in the stock location. Obviously you can't use the boost wiring for the a/f, but the voltage and oil temp should be able to be wired with the stock wiring.

IIRC, you can't use another gauge with the factory sending unit. 42Draft has what you need.
