You guys are seperated by over 15mph as of right so i am sure your car has the power to weight to turn the 26" no problem.. just my guess that he might not need all that tire and thats where some of the mph went, but i am sure hell get more power out of it with some of your guidance.. Good luck!!

You ever hear of the Mustang and Camaro guys putting a taller tire in the rear to get more MPH?

I have not tried a short tire like Curt likes to run. I hate seeing the engine at 10,000 rpm so I went with the 26". I can cross the finish line in my car in 4th at 9,000 rpm, doing 155 mph. I like that. I don't know if my car would be faster on the shorter tire or not, it might.
VWJeff, yes a car will/should make more power on the T4 housing but in this case the response time on the turbo is as slow as the GT42r. So the T4 housing/size is hurting Al right now.
We were reviewing logs and his car takes nearly a second to recover from peak boost back to the same boost level on a pass.
For comparison I looked at my car with the HTA35r on it and during a run, inbetween shifts the car doesn't drop below about 25 psi and is instandly back to 35 psi when the clutch comes back up.

Al, we have our car just about buttoned up with the new turbo. "Exhaust", dump tube for the single Tial 44 are all done. Oil feed/return need to be put on and I have to make a new inlet for the turbo. Planning on running it Wednesday night. If it gets finished tomorrow I will tune it. I believe the turbine housing is going to end up too large on ours too.......I left a message today to try and get a tighter one sent out.

great news David. I am excited to see how yours turns out.
The a/r designations and the back housing proportions really get screwy when you jump from t3 to t4. My t4 .81 a/r back housing was nearly big enough to stick my hand in it. Certainly it seems it will take a bit or r & d to find the ideal back housing for this configuration
I was super happy to start off in the 9 second range on the first attempt. That tells me I an headed in a good direction.
I have to admit playing with squeezing power out of small turbos is a lot more fun and intelectually challenging than working with the gt42.

Compared to the BAD BISH my car spools 1200 rpms later and makes the same power at the same boost level
Of course, when I get this turbo dialed in 100% I would like to see it at the 800 whp level - we'll see
The Bad Bish makes 747 whp on our dyno at 41 psi (but on colder temps) comapred to my 740 in 90 degree heat
