After reading the product label, it says it has more supersyn and additives that is why it can last 15000 on a NA car.
and with the first oil, it would have looked "used up and dark" after about 1000 miles as well probably.

The turbo is just another loop for the oil path. It probably helps the engine "consume" oil, but not a huge deal on changing habits. You should just check your level more than the average N/A 4 banger

if it were me, I'd run 5k intervals on regular M1... but you seem to be a bit more paranoid.
The cost difference is $3-4 for the 5 quart container in walmart. not much for a better oil I actually use the EP in my honda pilot and do the 14,000-15,000 mile interval with no ill effects. I am on my 3rd oil change with EP on my pilot. I have used EP on my evo9 mr since it had 4000 miles and change it every 5,000 miles. I am familiar with the blackstone labs and why repeat an obvious result when you already know the advantages of the EP? You guys need to read the product label if you get the chance and see why it is EP.

I use the M1-EP also..
great stuff.
And i also noticed the oil appears cleaner when i change it compared to the reg. M1..
Sure it costs a little more, but it works for me..

hmmm even if the cost is $5 more for a container at Wallmart....its still well worth it to use EP M1...very interesting...I guess for my next oil change I will try the EP...at the same time I doubt I will keep the car as long as the engine can last...lol...I don't know anyone that does...so maybe it is a waste of money...

i've been using the gold top for 30,000 miles and 6,000 intervals. No probs yet as I'm at 45,000 miles. What I do do is change the oil filter every 3K and fill it back up to the max amount on the dip stick.

My understanding is that they changed the regular M1, and it is not as good anymore, but the old M1 is still available as M1EP.

But I could be wrong.

The EP has a better additive package in the oil. Using it in an Evo is not about getting 10,000 miles between oil changes, it's just better protection when you are using it for higher performance demands on your motor.

This is the reason to invest in some serious M1 EP.

Awesome, I'd take it in every 500 miles.
