Bucking at WOT

Well my Evo is in the shop it was bucking at WOT and the boost was jumping around erratically after about 14psi. They replaced the wastegate solenoid and they say its building boost the way it should be now but its still bucking. So I have no idea whatever could be the problem. Maybe the MAF?

The cars mostly stock all it has is a Defi Boost gauge and a K&N Typhoon intake that was already on it when I bought it.

Did you change the plugs recently? And what shop changed the wastegate solenoid? You just wasted X amount of money.

well i didnt know we had a wastegate solenoid i know we have a wastegate actuator and a boost control solenoid, it would be important to know which was replaced...also when did it start happening, was there anything done recently that could have effected it (tune, new parts, etc)

Well I bought the car from carmax in its current condition. And carmax is paying to have everything fixed. They replaced the plugs and the cables and didn't help so they sent it to the Mitsu dealer near by and the replaced the wg solenoid.

Did they tell you what plugs they put in the car and id they gapped them? Im not sure about carmax, but I know alot of used dealerships have no clue about this stuff. I think you should double check for yourself, cuz it sounds like a misfire to me.

Well it was doing it before they changed the plug/cables and after. I was also thinkin the previous owner tried tuning it himself and ****ed it up cause it kinda feels like the cars pulling timing. Like if I would try and accelerate the car actually slows down more then when I'm at partial throttle.

No tune and that open element filter could be it. Your plugs could be the problem. Your best bet is to take it to a knowledgeable shop.

You need a tactrix cable, laptop and download Scan Tech and ECU flash.

Go to aktivematrix.com for the downloads.

Yeah I called up carmax and told them I want it to go to the best evo tuner in the area which is right down the street for them. The guy said he needed to talk to his manager because they don't have an account setup to pay them so Im waiting to hear back from him

Would be pretty sweet if Carmax paid for my car to get tuned lol.

Im not in CT, Im from there but military stationed out here in Kansas. The shops Modified by KC.

The mitsu dealer says the boost is holding and building like it should be since they replaced the solenoid but its still bucking. So I don't know, all I know is they've had my car in the shop for 2 weeks and Im losing my patience.
