could i gain the ability to use AYC if i switched to a motec controller, and then go to like Z1auto.com for an AYC diff?

 

Go to the MOtec web site. I think it clearly states that it does not use the AYC any longer. Its the reason I am not buying one because I have a IX with AYC.

 

im not so sure about that, i read the description carefully, and it said something to the effect that it (the AYC contrller on the ECU) is just not "active". im sure you could call motec and request one of their MDC's with the AYC active. because they still sell these things to people elsewhere in the world, im sure once you told them your intent, they would be more than willing to accomidate you.

i dont think you can request that otherwise they would mention it as an option.

 

I doubt you could have it with the AYC options.

The motec mdc is designed for the rally world and rally cars are built on an RS base, which doesn't have AYC, even in Europe / Japan.

 

yea your right, i just aquired some information about the MDC;

this statement alone would lead me to believe that it wouldnt work for AYC

"EVO 4 and 5s are not supported due to the difference in ACD/AYC controller connector but it would be possible to rewire the factory loom to suit the MDC (contact MoTeC for details)."


however, being able to control the front to rear power has my attention... wonder what the price tag is on one of these...
