The slope of those two curves tells a story also. The steeper rise of the white graph shows how it comes into boost harder and quicker than the stocker.

Right, we can see that, and it looks like a good improvement over the VIII turbo. Nobody is questioning that.

What most of us are interested in is seeing more (and better results than we have seen) of a White compared to an IX turbo. Don't get me wrong, I can completely understand the thought of wanting a brand new IX or similar to IX turbo, but THAT is where most of us are a little reserved on being really impressed with the White: how much better it really is than the stock IX, especially per $.

This turbo is showing better spool / response than the 8 turbo, which already has better spool / response than the 9 turbo. This means that the fp white has a considerable advantage over the 9 turbo when it goes to spool / response.

So far only 1 test has been done for the white vs evo 9 turbo, and while the evo 9 turbo showed better spool on the dyno, logs where showing 2lb/min more flow for the fp white during spool, which leaves some doubts for the whole test.

waiting for another evo 9 turbo / fp white test

Hope I can get through to FP today and start getting my conversion in order. It won't be a great comparo since I will be installing cams, springs, full race mani and the epm 02 dump all at the same time. But, if you guys are seeing high numbers on rather stock builds mine might be a better idea of a car getting a bit more pushed to max without being a full on race build.

Thanks Robert! Appreciate the time you took to answer my questions. You'll be seeing a box from Colorado very soon. Can't wait to post up some more results on this turbo.

I still have the White and don't think Robert's going to get it back. For a stock replacement or an upgrade, it's streetability is very good. Think about it, stock injectors should still work fine. I'd love to try it on a friends nearly bone stock Evo. I may have to buy it, just so we can throw it on his 'nearly pure stock' Evo IX.

Go for it Tom, great idea. I have my hands full with plenty of other projects at the moment and will not being doing another white evaluation in the near future.

Sounds good to me. We can post up some results of it on a very stock car.

Thanks again Tom. Let me know if you need any help getting ready for the shootout.
