You haven't listened close enough! I've seen a handful of B- series Hondas with crankwalk. Twin & Triple disc clutches will do that to the thrust washers.
Hell, even my old 4Runner V6 wasted a set of thrust washers! And that was an automatic.
It can happen to any engine, at any time, for any reason!

My step fathers parents each have Mercedes that has 200k+ and 250K on them.
And just because there is on thread about an Evo having crankwalk doesn't mean its a problem. How many Evos on the road now with no issue how many with?
Only problem about the internet is one thread creates wide spread chaos.

I'm not here to create widespread panic. Unfortunately, that is a bi-product of the internet......too many people believe what they read, and repeat it over and over again.
This thread is merely here to introduce a problem and gather facts on it

Notice I didnt say that achieving 200k+ miles on any other platform is not possible......just take a step back and consider how many mercedes are on the road, compared to how many hondas. Naturally you're going to see more broken down hondas

I rad an article a while back that said the reason the 2Gs are prone to it is because a batch of the cranks were outta spec I believe, or it might have been the bearings. I couldn't say for sure although it does sound plausible.
