Questions for Quartermasters Twin Disc Clutch Users???!!!
All ya'll that have a quartermasters twin disc. what measurements of shims did you use for the hydrolic throw out bearing. and also what were the measurements of the clutch pedal stopper that ya'll used. I'm installing this and want to get info on what other people are doing. I called quartermaster but this is still a little confusing. I have done plenty of other clutches I just want to get this thing installed exactly like the book says
thanks,
John
thanks,
John

I just installed this thing today and got my car running. feels like a nice clutch. The clutch pedal travel distance seems to be a lot less than the exedy triple I had.

Nah not yet. I'm pretty sure I understand the directions for it now though. But I'm calling the quartermaster technical support on Monday just to make sure I get it exactly right. I'm a real paranoid person and like to get everything as good as I can get it lol
right now the only place I've driven the car is around the block until I get the stopper put in. I just needed to see if everything was working right.
I can let ya'll know what is needed with the stopper though after I talk to them on Monday

Ok guys this is what they said about the stopper. They said that the easiest way to do this was to make a kind of bracket. what you do is weld a nut onto a small bracket/piece of metal and then screw a bolt into the nut ( which lets you adjust the height of the stopper). Then stick it behind the clutch pedal. the only thing is I really dont know how I will attach the bracket that I make in the area behind the clutch pedal.
But anyway they basically said that you have a buddy put the car in gear while you try and turn a wheel (while up on jackstands). then have him SLOWLY let off the clutch (while still in gear) and you tell him when you strart to feel resistance/cant turn the wheel anymore.
then you have your buddy adjust the clutch stopper bolt to that point. then after that they said you can lower the bold another 1/4" just to make sure the clutch fully engauges/disengauges
But thats the basics of it. I hope this helps. If anyone has any suggestions on how to mount the stopper once its made please chime in

I run this clutch in my car with no pedal stop. I was told my Devo that I did not need one. If you watch the hrb thur the inspection hole while somebody pushs the pedal you will see that it moves as soon as you start to push the pedal. My pedal gets real "hard" when the hrb is fully extended but my foot is not on the floor. I don't get anywhere near that part when driving or racing. This thing shifts so fast, you only have to tap the pedal in about 1/2" and bang the next gear.

yeah I agree that you don't absolutely HAVE to get a Pedal stop. but I just want to try and run a pedal stop just to be safe. So there is no uneeded wear and tear on the pressure plate/pressure plate fingers.
