Is there any exhaust out there that is quieter than stock and still free flowing?
I've had a Invidia N1 on my car for almost 5 years now with no problems, but lately everywhere I go I am getting pulled over for "loud or modified muffler" and at $100 bucks a pop it's getting annoying. I've had 3 tickets within the past 2 months. I get pulled over doing nothing - literally driving 30 MPH with my seatbelt on, it's quite frustrating. I know driving an Evo you get some extra attention from the police but this is getting ridiculous. Anyway - does anyone know what the quietest free flowing exhaust on the market? Please share. Also - do you know what the decibel rating is for it? Let me know. Thanks!!!

Some of the fairly popular EVO exhaust systems I've heard sound crappy and cheap to my ears, and do a poor job of reducing the midrange 'honk' that is particularly annoying. This isn't the fault of the exhaust, but is due to the muffler, and its placement at the rear isn't helping things.
If you locate a shop who is good at welding stainless (assuming your system is stainless), you may want to consider welding in a second stainless muffler as far upstream as you can fit it. The additon of another 'straight-through' stainlesss type like Magnaflow will not affect performance, but will improve the sound and reduce the annoying frequencies that call unwanted attention. IMO, twin muffler exhausts sound better anyway, reduce interior drone, while letting more of the low frequency thump come across instead of the midrange 'rap'.

either get the Fujisubo RM01A, or the RRE Stealth exhaust.... i had that one for a while, very quiet, and doesnt look flashy at all.... its a full 3" with Two big resonators on it, and the entire system is flat black. i loved it, but realize a loud exhaust is my preferance.... so i went with a JIC Titanium.
Give Road Race engineering a call for their stealth exhaust
Good luck

I know someone that uses that stock catback with a downpipe and testpipe and only gained .1 in the 1/4 comparing the stock catback versus the downpipe testpipe combo with an aftermarket catback. He also says its very quiet. This seems like the best option keep your downpipe and testpipe pared with the stock catback.
