help car cutting out!

I would think it would be an air problem.
The easiest and least costly thing to do is take the filter off and see if anything is stuck inside.
I once had the honeycomb come out and crumple into a ball causing a lack of air from being sucked up against the MAF.
It wouldnt hurt to check it though. Good luck.

That's Warrtalon he's straight to the point. And he is right, springs are garbage. I still have the same springs on my car, once the shocks go so does the ability to make sharp turns properly and safely. I have been wasting money with go fast stuff when I should have thrown on some coilovers.
ANy updates?

havent had a chance to check it...been out on the town...long night...lol ill get to tryin those things tomorrow...ill keep u updated, but anyways i have tried kicking it a couple of times again and it still does it, im hoping its a tuning issue because my car is very rich bottom end right now...and apparently lean up top...is there anything more severe it could be?

the guy i bought it from got it tuned at some place in south carolina, i guess thats why it only made the numbers it did...i thought they were kinda low, especially the torque

I have a few friends and myself had a problem a while back, Does it have the stock Air Box?
If So the 2 pushpins that hold the snorkle that guides the air in might be missing. When they break/come out it pushes the snorkle up and wont take any air and it will make it like you hit a wall.
Or...Needs a tune or plugs.
You really should have a wideband. That would tell you a lot of whats going on as far what your a/f is.

what's up with these people not reading threads and jumping in mid way...look, another one
He his hitting fuel cut due to the maf sensor reading more boost than it was initially tuned for. He lowered boost, the fuel cut stopped. He can either
A: up the boost limit in ecu flash
B: get a tune and have the vendor/tuner/tooner do it for him.
I say go option B. and have them scan the car for anything out of the ordinary.

Waz up guys, i'm a "03" evo owner as well. And i have the same code p0300. I've been searching everywhere and checked my car for boost leak and new spark plugs and tuned and switched coils but that didnt help at all. I finally went to mitsu, the master tech he's a real cool dude, i told him about the code and he rapidly said, " is it a 03?" and I said yes. Then he showed me and i was able to see wit my own eyes. Aite fellas, put on your seat belts, "It is the imputshaft and the 5th gear on the tranny" He showed me that the 5th gear wasnt flushed and tight enough. note: he had just done the work on a 03 thats why he was able to show me. The 5th gear wears and has to much play and it damages the imputshaft where the 5th gear sits. This causes a vibration when on 5th gear and sumtimes on 4th which the knock sensors will pick up and pulls the timing back to protect the so engine. He said the dealerships flashes wont work like some of you had to find out the hard way and no tune will help either like i had to find out. If they erase the knock sensor monitoring, then when something do happens inside your engine, you wont be able to tell because the knock sensors aint working how they should be. So once again the po300 code for random/cylinder misfire the problem is the imputshaft and 5th gear. Don't just repalce the 5th gear. Replace the imputshaft as well because of all the play/vibration of the 5th gear definetly damaged the imputshaft. Aite fellas, goodluck. and hope this helps
