taller 4th gear?? ok is the evo IX gear taller or no? what gear are most ''drag racers'' using that is still killer for the highways?
the reason i dont want to rebuild is because of this clip thing i here about. i dont need issues of this braking. and to convert it to a push syle is only about 300 less then getting a brand new quartermasters twin that already is push style.

get the stage 2 or 3 t-case service plus the REM process, i have a brand new mitsu t-case (STAGE 3) with REM process and love it. If u are drag racing or launchng all the time shep will tell u to use redline heavy shockproof and if below 400hp stick with oem fluid, i use the heavy shockproof and love my t-case with no probs.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If u use redline fluid it is very THICK and takes forever to fill the t case makse sure its is completly filled case just when u think its filled give another 4-5 pumps of fluid cause i can gaurentee u its not , the fluid is that THICK and it seems when u pump fast it backs out the the fill plug leading u to belive its full when its not.

if i were u sheptrans would be my first choice then tre, jon is one of the nicest guys u will talk to and he will answer every question u throw at him, and turnaround time is crazy fast.\\
ive heard alot of bad things about tre not shipping there products out when promised and they had terrible customer service but that was a while ago and maybe things have changed, in the end its all up to u do a search on here for jon shepherd or sheptrans u get the idea and let that be the deciding factor for u!!!!!

Sorry to hear about that Dan. I have always admired your build, and this seems like it was almost inevitable with your torque.
If I were you, I would DEFINITELY get a front LSD. The open front diff spider gears are prone to breaking, especially if you are going to be doing drag launches. This in turn contributed to Transfer case damage. Protect your investment, and be true AWD, not 3WD , and put your nice power down better.
You may not need to pop the $1200 for the Quaife. Also look into the Wavetrac offered by RRE. I have not been able to find much info, but in theory, the design seems like it could be superior to the Quaife. In fact, RRE has replacede the Quaife with this as an offering. you may want to call RRE and ask them why, then share with us. Otherwise some people have put down good power with the stock front LSD from a later model or RS Evo. Just some options to consider.
FWIW Buschur's Bushwacker is a service done by either TRE or shep IIRC.
Good luck with your rebuild, and please let us know which gears you decide to go with.
