I can't believe you just said that. The difference in depth is clearly from the coldside and centersection still being on the larger turbine housing. You think I'm trying to mislead people? What kind of BS is that? I'm not pushing a product or a brand name- or else I would have told the OP to contact Buschur Racing or TurboTrix.
The turbine housing that AMS uses has the port for the wastegate discharge, this unit wasn't even configured that way, but I guess that will be the next moot point in the discussion.
You guys can argue all you want. There are photos, testimonials, and dynosheets to prove this difference. Take it as fact or leave it alone, but please add something to the discussion that is of value to the OP.

the only thing I don't like about switching to the other housing is how I'd have to hack into my AMS manifold for the wastegate pipe .... but I really think I do need the .82 especially since I have a 2.3 liter

Buy a new manifold and downpipe... Full Race makes some of the best Manifolds... I would go with either them or the Shearer Manifold (this is what BR uses with their kits)... both their downpipes are for a 4-bolt housing.. that way you can switch to a .82 housing and get a better manifold

Here's a couple of dynosheets that we can 'bench race' with. I just pulled them off evom.
Same dyno, so we can all agree it's a consistent measure.
Freddy's
Sharkbite's
Let's analyze the tq curves and discuss. If I'm wrong, someone please chime in and correct me, but Sharkbite's 2.3 stroker was running a 5bolt housing correct?
We are comparing apples to oranges, but on the same dyno.

That's a call that only you can make, no one knows your pockets more than you. Making the choice of a manifold swap or to customize the AMS unit is your choice. I like the AMS unit, It's nice and solid-- But Lokievo may be right.

As far as all this hoopala is concerned with Freddy's 2.0 build Evo and the size hotside. I'll be running Buschurs FS635 with the .63, 5 bolt hotside and Shearer turbo kit (meaning PROPER 3 inch 5 bolt-o2 housing). My build is similar to freddy's...except with more Buschur goodies I'll be sure to keep ya'll posted..which shouldn't be long..turbo is on its way

so the new FS635 is a 5 bolt exhaust housing??? will the wastegate be coming off of the O2 housing or directly off of the manifold???

I have the Shearer tubular manifold..so the WG is off the manifold. I got the 5-bolt exhaust housing for the turbo because that's the one I asked Buschur for. I'm not aware if it's offered in other configurations.

^^^^^^^^^Sorry to repost a huge pic again BUT ...... I know sharkbite's car is a 2.3 liter, but is Freddy's car also a 2.3 liter??? From the torque it looks that way but I just want to make sure. thanks

Freddy's evo is a built 2.0 Liter. He made those numbers with C-16. Here is a post of it. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=368814

What you are seeing on the tq curve is Freddy's 2.0 outflowing the 2.3. Keep in mind Freddy was on a 75mm tb and DI intake vs Sharkbite's stock IM, but he was also running LESS boost.
