I wouldnt mind a MIVEC head. What would be required for the MIVEC to function?

I believe it can work but you will need an evo 9 ecu for the mivec. Why not just get an evo 8 head?

Here is a thread for you: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...light=evo+head

Seems like to much of a hassle to me, but to each his/her own..

You might be able to but you would have to look into what feeds the MIVEC oil pressure. I would think it would come from an oil passage in the block which an evo 8 might not have. It may be possible to do something like a Honda LSvtec swap where you plug the oil feed hole in the head then run an oil feed line from the filter block to the MIVEC solenoid? Again I don't know for sure, just a thought, I don't know from experience how it is set up.

I dont think all the oil passages and coolant runs the same or the evo 9 headgasket would work on the 8.. I never really researched it but i am pretty confident you cannot swap heads..

all you mechanically need to do is tap the evo 8 block for the mivec oil pressure line at the oil pressure sender. you would use an evo 9 HG.

the oil and coolant passages are the same between the evo 8/9 head/block
