450awhp Power Goal on 93oct

I have asked this question twice before and both times I have received useful information. I have revised my desired parts and power figure. I have a specific power goal in mind. I would like ask the community once again if this is a logical and effective progression of modifications.

The goal is 450awhp (hopefully 400+awtq) on AMS's DynoJet (?) on pump 93 oct.

Current mods are listed in my signature, but for the sake of completeness for this post I will write again:

-Buschur TBE
-Buschur SS o2 housing
-Buschur Cone Intake
-AMS MBC
-AMS Tune

What I am thinking as far as upgrades:

-ETS 4" Wide-end tank FMIC (I do not want to modify the crash beam for the Buschur Race Core)
-ETS Upper/ Lower Piping
-Kelford/ Cosworth 272s
-Buschur Dual Springs and Retainers
-Buschur 1000cc Injectors
-Forced Performance EVORed
-Buschur Ported and Coated Manifold
-Buschur Ported Turbo Housing (assuming I can do a core-exchange through Buschur otherwise no porting)
-ARP Head Studs
-Walbro 255

I would very much like to keep the stock bottom end as well as stock head, I want to keep this as bolt on as possible for the main reason I can do all installs personally.

That all said, will this combination of parts SAFELY make 450+awhp? I am looking for reliability and longevity in a powerful set up. I am unsure of the 'detail' parts that I would require in addition to this, as in, would I need adjustable cam-gears, various porting, etc? Are there any recommended things that can be done to maximize this parts set?

If there are any similar threads/ cars out there point them out, but the search button is not great in itself and made worse when looking for something very specific.

As always, thanks!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE: I just installed a bunch of stuff (ETS 4" core, piping, intake pipe, fuel pump soon...) and have a few questions.

First, I am thinking a tune at this point is a good idea. The car runs reasonably well but there is some stuttering after letting off the throttle at low engine speeds and idle is a little erratic. A tune will maximize gains. Anyone think this is not at all necessary?

Second, assuming I will get tuned (probably spring time) what should I stuff on my car before that tune that isnt a 'big part'. As in, I was thinking of converting to a speed density setup before the tune. Maybe injectors? Anything for some good power w/o the cams and turbo as I do not really desire to throw $2500 at my motor at this point, but I would really like to maximize my tune. Sooooo RECOMMENDATIONS?

I chuckled when I saw brake fluid and a boost gauge as a "mod."

Your in the Mid-west...

E85 - done

Not that I love what it does environmentally, but its basically cheap race gas.

I know, I know... I want the e85 badly... However, its still not available EVERYWHERE, though most places it is. The two down sides: terrible mileage, and the additional tuning and whatnot needed to run it year round. Anyone know what that set up would put out on e85?

Not only that but in the winter its not 85 anymore so you would need a retune every season change

I laughed when I seen he didn't wanna modify his crash bar for the BR FMIC.

The cleverness of the select few EvoM members never ceases to amuse me...

There are multiple reasons for not modifying the crash beam of which Im SURE you contemplated before posting:

1. The crash beam does perform a function at <5mph collisions. I dont know about you, but I have no desire for a new bumper if one of the many brainless individuals with a driver's license rams my baby.
2. The ETS intercooler, due to its narrower core, fits exactly to the dimensions of the Evo IX's lower air intake, not to mention the setup costs $100 less then the Buschur setup. I clearly like Buschur, so this is not some brand thing.
3. Lastly, and most importantly, modification of safety hardware on your car, even as 'insignificant' as the crash beam, can void your insurance.

Like I said, Im sure you thought about all of these points before posting

It changes to approximately e70 in the winter, correct? I do have ECUflash and a Tactrix meaning I, thankfully, can save my maps and up/download as necessary... still, thats two more maps needed

Stock ECU? Why is that a problem? Are there scaling issues with the e70?

You got me man I am a brainless idiot sorry for not knowing anything about what a bumper beam does . Chances are if your "baby" is hit in the front up to 5mph it's gonna be your fault for not watching what you are doing
That turbo is gonna make a ton of heat to make that power, I just figured you would want a provin FMIC is all.

A. You were not the brainless masses I was referring to, however, the more you post the more I figure you belong in that category.

B. Last time I checked, people can still hit you while parked... maybe you have some kind of shield that I have not heard of...

Thanks again for your valuable input!

Hey Kids, remember:

As for the OP, I have a basically stock Evo. I can't claim to know what will get you 450AWHP. But i'm reading this thread because I'd like to know as well.
