hey everyone.. so today i dropped in a new intercooler being the hks type r with the lower piping.. upper piping coming later this week.. so i had my car tuned a while back and it would run about 24 to 25 pounds on stock turbo and have a full spool before 4 grand...
anyways right after installation my turbo lag was INSANNNNE!!!
first gear wont even spool past like 10 or so.. and in higher gears it hits like 20 pounds around like 5 grand.. it had me worried at first and thought there was a boost leak somehwhere but the tech checked out everything and i personally dont think that a leak would hold even 20 psi..
any kind of input would be a great help...

How much is the inlet and outlet of the interooler?
2.5" ???

 

Did you do a boost leak test? That is the only way to "CHECK" it.

 

Its not the Intercooler....

Swap back the old intercooler and test to be sure?

Really sounds like a leak. Big intercoolers can kill spool a little...but not like what you're describing. Weird.
