Cheapest way to reach the 350 whp range?

Mods are listed below, coming from the VW world to my lovely EVO. And I love the power to death, but just want to kind of put it at a good place for track days and all around Daily Driveability so I'd like to get around the 350 whp range so I can retain a lot of the stock areas of the car.

But I don't have much to spend on the car this year because I wanna keep a few grand in the bank in case something breaks and I won't have to stress over it. So I was wondering what the best way to reach my goal(or just come close) would be. Looking to spend around a grand including tuning at Buschur.

Any opinions would be appreciated, just not negative rants please. thanks!

You should be pretty close already. A tune with meth/alchy would do it but you may need a new clutch down the road, depending on the trq you make.Even a tune at 25-26psi on 93-94 octane will do it. Take off the cat and maybe pick up an intercooler as well. These are just a few things..

1. Test Pipe
2. Intercooler
3. Retune

That should put you in that area.....

Good Luck,

Steve

Manual Boost Controller
Buschur Turbo-back exhaust
Buschur Intake or a drop in air filter
Dynoflash Custom ECU re-flash
Walboro fuel pump

I made 355whp on a dynojet with those mods on my IX. About $1400 including the tune. You can do a mail-in flash, but you'll maximize your HP with a custom tune.

MBC + 3" TBE (no cat) + intake + tune = SUCCESS!

I'd also consider new IC piping for good measure.

Well I have the MBC, the TBE w/ no cat, the intake, and the Upper and Lower ICP for those that didn't read the original post haha.

I just ordered a Megan 02 Housing, and I'm not sure if I should get anything else...

HKS 272 Cams? or FMIC?

LOL. I should have read more carefully.

I have similar mods except for the MBC and IC piping and I am already at 334 WHP / 313 TQ. It would seem to me that you should already be pushing 350. Perhaps a more aggressive tune is needed.

ya you should be pretty darn close to 350 as is.... set your boost to 25-26 psi and get tuned by a GOOD tuner... if your not at 350 after that then a good set of cams will put you over the top
