Which ACT flywheel would be best for me? Streetlite or Prolite??
Hello, I was wondering what you guys would recommend to me as far as flywheels go....
My intended use of the EVO: mainly as a daily driver, rarely drag race/autox, but the car spends most of its life on the streets/highway.....and I would like for it to accel on the street/highway.....
I've already done a some lightweight mods to the car.....i.e.- 2 pc Baer Girodisc rotors all around, lighter 15.5 lbs. 17X8 Enkei RPF1's, and a 2 pc. cromaly driveshaft from Devo tuning.

Since the stock flywheel is already pretty light on the EVO, you will not notice much difference using our Streetlite flywheel. The main improvement intended with our Streetlite for the EVO is that it is very durable compared to stock which is especially good for drag racing.
On the other hand, the Prolite is considerably lighter especially on the outer perimeter (where it counts the most) and yet still about 20% thicker behind the clutch surface, for good durability. For you, my vote is Prolite.

+1 for the prolite.
i had a prolight. then switched to a streetlite.
man wish i could go back. what i miss most is how fast the revs come back down when shifting. it makes clutchless shifting way easier.
although the streetlight launches better. more mass..
but i say prolite.

I run the prolite on the street and love it. I really dont see an issue with having a prolite for the street.

By the way, would the 10.7 lb RRE no name cromaly flywheel be just as good, on the price standpoint, or should I fork out the extra $80 or so for a real ACT Prolite?
Secondly.... I know someone mentioned about launch issues.... now if I am using launch control thru my AEM EMS, it shouldnt really matter then right?

I have the RRE no name flywheel, nothing comes close to it in price. Pretty much same specs as the ACT Prolite. I love it, the car revs so freely now and it's soooo easy to rev match.

cool....looking back, I wish i had shelled out the extra $300 or so for the prolite flywheel, or even the RRE no name flywheel when I was getting my ACT Xtreme clutch put in... I would have saved loads on labor.
