read the thread bro. its 2 pages and you started the second page. all the info is on page one..... seemed to be a very simple fix

Shims are for anyone that is stepping down the flywheel / Resurfacing it.

That’s not what I’m asking. I read it. I was wondering what the issue was. Was the issue the shims??? Or did he not measure it correctly??

He measured correctly but the install instructions and measurements are not for the EVO. They are universal for any car that uses the 7.25.


The Quartermaster Evo Kit is made for direct bolt on, not measuring needed unless you have a resurfaced flywheel and your rebuilding it.

I ended up using .060 worth of shims...didnt know it was direct bolt on...

Ur going just shorten the life of the clutch.. Not that they last very long. Mine lasted 12K with a hand full of launches.. But they are awesome for drag racing and road racing.

Yes. As the clutch wears the fingers starts to move out toward the TOB and will connect with the TOB not alowing the clutch to full release and the clutch will start to slip.. When they are new the fingers on the pressure plate lay flat. As they start to wear they start to move the other way. The finger move alot as the clutch starts to wear. I would say between 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch.

yeah that may be true but it's only .060 of an inch worth of shims that I used. since the clutch doesnt last long in the first place. hopefully the clutch fingers wont move toward the TOB before the clutch wears out.

you need no less of .120 of clearance from the tob to the fingers.

That what they do.. and you are .60 closer.. You only use the shims when you machine the flywheel.

Mine last about 12K with about a few launches.. I drove the car very nice too.. No crazy heat marks or anything.
