whats the difference in sound level on your random cat vs test pipe?

sound or noise level w/ the random cat is noticably quieter! it's very good compromise - quieter, less smelly and seems to flow very well according to my butt and dynojet! GL!

Thanks
I am planning on getting a HFC because running with my test pipe is too loud, as well as illegal, and switching back to the stock cat restricts too much performance. I have read that Random makes the 3 inch for a 03/04 that should fit my 05 without any issues.

Anyone know any vendors on here that sell this cat?

Ultrarev.com has the best price, and they give a 5% discount for EvoM members. You'll want to get the install kit too. Its about $20. It includes some, nuts, bolts and gaskets. If you don't want to spend the $20, the stock gaskets might be reusable, but not all of the stock nuts/bolts work with the Random Tech HFC, so you'll have to go to a hardware store to get some nuts and bolts.

Cats contribute to noise reduction. A test pipe will be louder than an HFC.

I'm running a Random Tech metal substrate HFC on my stock exhaust system. I thought that the higher flow would make the exhaust note louder, but surprisingly, it did not make the car any louder at all.

On my previous car I went from catted to catless, and it made the car much louder.

Not if you run the RRE Rally Cat which is a resonated test pipe w/ catatylic heatshield over it.

It quiets down your fart can and yet gaisn more HP than the HFC, and best of all, it still looks like a cat!!
