Stock return line please look.

Ok i ran into a very weird problem tonight. Car has been down for sometime now due to some tranny issues, Well all that was fixed and got the car back tonight. I bought a IX turbo from my buddy, he had it on his 03. Well i go to put it on my 05 tonight and bam! The return line will NOT bolt to my oil pan. Keep in mind all oil lines including the return line came off his car. I pulled it off myself. Well the flange on the return line is just straight to where on my oil pan its angled. Has anyone else ran into this? Can anyone tell me what line i need? i have obviously figured out there are two different lines. I have just found this VERY weird becuase this car has had about 8 different turbos on it anywhere from stock 05 turbos to IX turbos to 03 turbos with 10.5 hotside added. All turbos have came with lines so i havent had to buy them and they have bolted up just fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Matt

yep the angle is different on the evo 8 turbo to the evo 9 turbo. A quick fix would be to cut the return line in half and use some heater hose or anything like that and make it fit like that with 2 clamps. I had to that until i got my oil line from a evo 8 turbo in.

Some people have bent their lines to make it work, but the Evo 8 and Evo 9 oil hard lines are different.

That guy must have messed up the drain line bad enough that it can't be lined up. I used my stock 8 turbo return line and put in on a 20G-LT Turbo and had no problems. You can try bolting the line to the oil pan first, then attaching to the bottom of the turbo. Good luck, maybe some pics can help.

Evo 8 oil return line definitely fits an evo 9 turbo.
