oil light flickering what's it mean?

like the title says I get the light to start to flicker and some times stay on for about a second whenever I take off in first and only in first. Oil changes have been done at dealership. Any one have the same problem, and is it bad? Car only has 13xxx miles and I am the first owner and don't abuse the car either.

It is a IX, they are know for having their oil pressure sensor (sending unit) go bad. My advice would be to change it, keep an eye out for unusual sounds but it is most likely this sensor and there is nothing wrong with your car.

My oil light would flicker (indicating low oil pressure), but only at idle after 25 minute lapping sessions. I switched to 10W40 and no more problem. I also installed an oil pressure gauge.

You have an MR, is one of the gauges oil pressure? Does it show low? Its most likely a faulty sensor but get it checked, its still under warranty.

had the same problem couple weeks ago. get the oil pressure sensor/sending unit from the dealer. Its only about $25-$30. Light has not come on since I've changed it out. Good luck.

car has about 1xxx miles since the oil change. Zero leaks so it should be good.

search this topic. Most likley its just the oil pressure sending unit and its a $15 part or so, happiend to me and that fixed it. Try that and if thats not it then you have much bigger problems.
