Nebraska Has tons of e85 stations. I did the math and when 91 was 4.29 a gallon, i saved 6 bucks a tank or gas. But you only get right around 200-250 miles to a tank if you drive fairly spirited

I only get around 270 miles per tank MAX on 91 if I am driving like an old lady the whole time, so that dosn't seem bad at all.
There are 2 stations here in Santa Fe, one is block from my house. The problem is that there are so few in the rest of the state, it becomes a problem for longer drives .

people are jumping on the e85 bandwagon because of the high octane or so they can claim they are being green, fact is if its 2.00 a gallon (whitch its not)and burns twice as much, then the mpg per dollar ends up being the same only difference is youre stopping to get gas more often.could get a cobb access port and get a tune for e85, 91 and 106.meth is the way to go ,tune for with it and without it.sorry you only get 91.in my town (statesville,n.c.) you can get 87,89,91,93,and 99 all at the same station.local dragstrip sells 106 and 116 on thurs, fri, sat. so we have access to about any grade you could want to run.personally i will never bother with the e85 just not worth the trouble.

This post is full of 'knowledge'...

Well tuned E85 running Evos should only see 3-4mpg less than pump gas.

Have you actually tuned with E85? You need to in order to understand why there is a "bandwagon"

It's even better than the internetz haz told youz

My issue with E85 is availability, so I went with meth. As with all mods, it all depends on your driving habits.

You need to do some more reading and talk to more tuners who are using E85. Like Razorlab.

It doesnt look like I need to add anything... but E85 doesnt run out mid pull, have a pump or line that can fall off, nozzle clog and shoot a stream instead of a fog and hydraulic a motor, etc.

methanol is corrosive to aluminum

methanol is poisonous to humans in almost any concentration

E85 doesnt need to be handled in any form close to methanol

That's crazy talk!! I don't think there are any in this area! I would kill to have a bunch of E85 stations here.

Spoolnup I understand what you meant, and just wanted to show that its flexible and easy if he DID need to change maps. I also didn't know the blend in NC doesn't change enough to need muti maps if you wanted to run it 24/7/365.

Evane, get 1000cc injectors. If your tuner is comfortable with it even 1200s if you think you are going to upgrade the turbo later. A single walbro should suffice for the stock turbo.

If you're still on stock cams you might want to consider doing those and ARP head studs at the same time as the timing belt for ease and to get the most out of your E85 and the additional boost it allows. FMIC upgrade is also not a bad idea at some point if you are really going to max out the stock turbo. You can do those things later if you want though, you just might not be able to run quite as high boost in the meantime.

E85 is rare and you need an entire fuel system that is meant for it and set up to run it not to mention your stock ECU can only hold one tune. Meth can be turned on and off instead of getting ****ty gas mileage all the time too. Meth with a failsafe is just as safe as E85 and way more convienient.
