Can my 500 WHP EVO VIII benefit from a 4.11 FD??

I was just curious about something here, I was on TRE's website looking at FD gears and diffs and t-cases and came across the FD gear ratios that are availible for our cars....

Suppose my EVO makes like 410-430 WTQ and like 500 AWHP dynojet power, will my Evo 8 with its standard VIII gear rations benefit from an 4.11 FD upgrade??

Will I get down the 1/4 mile quicker/faster?

yea i believe it will be a longer gear.. not sure if you will run any faster but you will get alot of more mph out of the gear u change to the 4.11. thats what i plan on doing in my MR eventually

They came up with the 4.11 for the stroker guys that have power and cant get the mph they need without shifting into 5th drag racing. I guess it could work road racing if again its a stroker that can't rev high enough to keep off the rev limiter in 5th on the long straights.
At 500hp you should have any problems with drag racing with the stock FD.

I think you would benefit. Actually there was a vid of a vishnu turboed car I believe and it showed differences between the stock ratios and the 4:11s. It had a 3071/3076 if I'm not mistaken. Check their vendor section and it should be there.

The limiter will only let you go so far, probably 125mph or close to 130 if you bump it to 8100. With the gearing, 140+mph is capable and you would get better gas mileage as well. I really think good sized turbos would shine in 3rd and 4th gear with these ratios, even without seeing the video.

Hope this helps

im still new to the evo comunity, but where i came from (z33) the high horsepower(500-600) turbo guys loved putting the lower ratio gear in for the final drive. allowed them to put more power to the road for a longer period of time. they guys with the lower ratios would actually pull on the stock geared cars with no problem. just a view from a different perspective
