STM's Ricer goes on a diet...Updated

Today at the shop, Cory and Myself were sitting there looking at the car trying to find ways to make it a little lighter. One thing led to another and before we knew it the whole thing was apart. lol. Needless to say we found a lot of things that were not needed for our car and the car is loosing a lot of weight. When we are done the car will still be full interior just without all the extra weight.

Here are some pics....
Man that sunroof looks heavy....

Now its ready for an AMS roof

I wonder what we can find under the dash? Yeah all that sound deadening stuff has got to go...

Next up is the ABS..

We have a while to get all this done but why not start now? I think our goal for next year will be to compete with the big guys but still maintaining the "Street car" image. The car is in such good shape that I cant bring myself to hack it up.

I will trade you my stock 8 heads for your painted ones. I'm sure it will save you an ounce from the paint

Looks like someone stole your car and hacked it up

Keep us posted , very interesting to see where and what you remove for weight.

Have you been weighing things upon removal??

looks good guys!! How much do you think the whole sunroof assembly weighs?? Or better question, do you know the weight difference between the AMS CF roof and a stock roof with all the sunroof stuff?

Also, pull that sound deadening off the floor. Its worth about 25 pounds.

Dry ice or a heat gun and putty knife will do the trick.

STM do you plan to fab up some lightweight parts that we can buy that is not already out on the market?? car looks good. there is alot of brackets and such under the dash im told that can be removed.

also you can ditch that big bar under the dash. but you need to build a bracket to hold the steering column in place. but many people do it.
