Go Exedy Double, you I believe are a little past the threshold. 330-350 whp on a DD with minimal abuse would hold for a while. 340-375 < than 8K I bet on the stocker

Oh HKS EVC 6, with a TTP tune and Greddy TB exhaust, clutch slipped at 22K. Previous EVO 8 went 40K with similar mods. Cosworth cams installed, retune from TTP, clutch didnt last a week.

Stock clutch on an Evo VIII will start to slip as you get near 350 wtq / 400 whp on a DynoJet. At the power levels you're planning to make, you will annihilate the stock clutch.

on buschurs mustang dyno i made like 330/340 and it started slipping. thats about what you plan to make on a dynojet.

Car had 8000 miles and it went 500 miles after the tune

get an exedy twin.

The stock clutch is rated at 373 ft. lbs IIRC at the crank.

My car made 372 whp and 362 wtq. on the stock clutch on a Dynapack for over 8K and then I had the motor out of the car and changed it, so how long it lasts depends on how you drive.

lol Just Face it Mark; the stock clutch is weak. Just go and buy a clutch and install it your self. I would even help you do it, so we can get it done faster.

You might get away with little over a year of use on the stock clutch by avoiding WOT applications below 3500rpm and WOT in gears higher than 3rd. No launching!

I am at 6 months right now, the six puck in there before lasted about 1 year but the stock one used now is holding up, albeit, never WOT below 3500 rpm or above 3rd. I dont even do 3rd gear pulls for logging, their either a 2nd gr or a 1-2-3.

Also, do not cut the stock flywheel, just finish it by hand, if you can, till it's smooth and spend a good $80 for a precision balancing (they might have to cut the center hole to fit the machine though).

It's a big sacrafice running the stocker, but the drivability is good and I paid less than $200 for everything (not including $100 worth of beer I drank in the garage)

I have never launched my car, I still have a stock clutch with about that much power.

I have a GT30R kit around 23psi, which is around 400whp. My clutch still grabs like it was new. 30k miles!

I beat the **** out of my clutch, as far all roll on throttle and stuff. Its alot tougher then people say it is. I rev match and everything though which might help prolong the life of mine.

There you go,

Stocker can hold fine by avoiding torque and drag racing (which destroys more expensive stuff). Think of it as a $200 replacable fuse that takes a little work to replace. I've gone through 3

I have seen people destory clutchs. I think its more about how you treat it. Unless you have tons of power, example gt35r.
