Also...I have some interesting test data of oil temps with and without the cooler. You'd be surprised.

I agree someone needs to post pics or part numbers for what is needed to delete the cooler. I will be removing mine this winter to clean up the engine bay and get rid of a pound or two.

i spun my balance shaft bearing couple of months ago and just got back my motor from buschur (stage 3) and iam getting rid of the oil cooler when i finish the build, mainly because there is metal shavings in it and takes up room and weight.

Turbo car produce lots more heat especially 4g63 is known for it's heat problem, by having the oil cooler there, it'll maintain proper operating temperature, extend the life of motor.

Even for normal daily driving, you still will have fun with your car, doing WOT etc. under those condition the oil temp rise fast, if you don't have oil cooler the temp is going to rise even faster.

I'd imagine an hour at faster highway speeds (>70 mph) could heat up the oil enough to need the cooler.

Wont the turbo always be spooling a bit at those speeds?

Seems like youll make your car more impractical then it needs to be, in order to save maybe 5 lbs and few dollars on each oil change?

I'd want to test it thoroughly and would be ready to put the cooler back the first time temps got to high.
