e85 dayly driving?

if you drive the car out of boost its really not as drastic as what you guys are making it out to be. I have map switch installed in my car. yesterday I went by kroger filled up 12.87 gallons of E85, started the car on 93octane map let it run for little bit ( 5 minutes?) then hit the button for E85 map and drove off. car would stumble some at liftt if you were in high boost. (going way rich not tuned yet).
if you drive it normal it will run just fine....
side note: at 23.5psi i am making almost my 93 octane power level and this is untuned running really rich still (11.3ish), low timing

in NJ you cant pump your own gas
guy put in 87 octane instead of 93, ruined it all
tank has anti-siphon, in a desperate move i pulled out backseat and drained as much as i could from where the fuel pump is.
sucked cuz it took so long.

in NJ you cant pump your own gas

The map switch would be nice. But think about it for a second. Lets suppose you got an 1/8 tank left of e85 and you have to fill up with 93. Switch to your 93 map, and you still got a mixture of e85 in there. You see what I'm saying. Its hard to get to the gas station to fill up when theres barely any fuel in there. Any suggestions? I want to do e85, but I want this completely thought out.

Just plan where your goin if your goin on a long trip. Its not like you get 4mph on e85. Just for a note. I drove 1.5 hours to the track, made 11-12 passes and drove about another hour before I stopped for fuel. Did many many pulls along the way and still averaged ~16.5mpg. I daily drive with the stuff and will never look back. I did drive it out of state to race once, I carried some extra fuel with me in some nice 5 gallon race jugs. Don't use the junk 5 gallon jugs made for lawnmowers.

I daily drive mine on E85, average 16-17mpg, and thats getting on it now and then.
at $1.99/gl I can't complain one bit!!
I do recommend changing the oil sooner then you would on pump 93 octane. If you drive around on e85 allot pull your oil cap off and smell in the valve cover, you will know what I am talking about, the oil will start to smell like E85 after about 1500miles.

If you want to drain all or most of your current fuel out of your gas tank, simply pop your hood, disconnect your fuel return line, and start the car. Be sure to have about a 3' long 1/4" tube(or whatever the stock return line is) and drain the fuel into a can. If your at about 1/8 tank, by doing this you can drain your tank in about 1 1/2 minutes. Replace the fuel return line and fill up with your new fuel. Done.

Im thinking about making the switch to E-85 as well, I have a couple stations around me but what i'll do is, everyday I probably need to go get gas i'll take a 5 gallon jug and fill it up in case of emergency. its no big deal or if the jug is already filled i'll pour it in to the tank and refill it when i get there. I think a lot will agree that the extra ponies are worth it.
