4088R on a DNP Manifold. This is at 33psi.

I am a huge fan of this turbo. The full race setup on this would be the ultimate.

I say go for it Sharkbite

The power that DSMer made on a 4088 is VERY impressive, because the turbo is rated for ~700hp. I think a good upgrade would be something like the HTA 37R/T04Z because it should do better than a 4088, and you could keep your T3 manifold.

That's alot of lag is that must be 2.0 set-up , I've seen other dyno's with a 2.3 that spools up alot faster like in the 4000's rpm range.

I am running Full race stup on a 2.3.

I don't think you will make outright more power with a 4088, but one thing is for sure it will out spool and be a better drivers car than the 850r.

I get 22psi at 4100 rpm with FR kit and GSC S2 cams.
and i am 5500ft above sea level.

the 4088 spools as quick as my AMS 30r setup as on a 2L

This is at 5000+ feet lol. And it is a 2.3

I have some more sheets but it really is not that late to spool. It also is not a true TS setup.

I'm looking to try something else that I don't have to crank it up to 40+psi to feel the power, but then again ,I'm not normal I crave HP all the time.

here check this out
I have posted on another thread some where else.

3rd Gear 4600rpm.

this is at 5500ft above sea level
altitude is a killer.
but like i said before I dont think you will make much more top end power with a 4088, but you will def have more area under the graph.

What is the purpose of the car? Do you just want good whp numbers or good 1/4 mile #'s? Size doesn't always matter as you see people with stock framed turbos running the same times as people with 35/37r's. You should ask the "dude" where you have your car what he has to say...
Im sure you know: WHP= the bigger the better, while good 1/4 is a compromise between lag/weight/whp/wtq

Thanks very much.
I should have figures by next week some time, havent got around to tune the car.
was on the dyno a week ago just to check if all is ok and we not having any probs

car did just a smidge over 500hp @ 1.6 bar boost, this is actuator boost.
we ran 4 deg on peak torque and 8 at 7000.
I don't have the dyno sheet but will ask the guy if he could dig it out.
this was on a dyno pack dyno.

there is way more in it with more timing, and then i will crank it up to 40 PSI with race gas.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=380322 there u go sharkbite 804 650 tq probably on a 2.0. I don't think your gonna get the power u want on a 2.3 seeing u cant rev up the turbo as high which is actually the whole point of a big turbo to take it higher rpms to make power.

9000rpm isnt enough?

Hes already had a 37r for a long time guys. Why would he want another to4z?

If your really wanting power, i'd go twin scroll T4 4094! also the 4088's do great on scoobies
they don't run near the boost we do. I really don't think i've seen any 4088 dyno numbers above
33psi. You could make the same power you are at 42 @ 31psi with the right manifold and correct
exhaust housing on the 2.3L you will end up with a very nice setup and same power at lower boost
if thats what your looking for!

I might have to destroke it and see how that run's but before I do anything I just wanna get enough info to go the right direction. I never liked the 2.3 ever.
