See that's what I am thinking. The less weight a car has to turn means it will spool/ rev faster, hence why changing to magnesium rims on my bike made it much faster when I rolled into it. But I was wondering about these other things since they deal with the motor.

So the drive shaft that a vendor sells on here removes 15 lbs and the crankshaft that I have has been knife edged by Pauter and balanced by them. Just by looking at the crank and looking at a stock one I can see that at least 5 lbs of meatl have been removed off of it.

Yeah, when you can lose weight in parts that move, its almost always a good thing.

A quick question . . .

Do you notice a difference in spool characteristics between 1st and 4th gear? If so, why is this the case?

I guess I don't understand the question.

I am hoping that getting these parts. ( already have the cranks knifedged) but the driveshaft will pseed up the spool even more. Am I wrong to think this. I really don't know that's why I am asking.

my 2 liter evo made 707hp with a gt4094r at 39psi droping to 34psi(boost leak)
it is a laggy turbo on the street and i wish i had gone with a 4088 instead.i have to dig up the dyno sheets gimme a bit.i however like the 4094r on my 2.0 k-series civic.

found the dyno sheet,as you can see the power band isnt great.it would problay wake up with your stroker.this is on a twin scroll 1.06 back housing.also the lower the #s are through an hks exhaust.just unbolting the the exhaust from the axle back made a huge jump in power.hks exhaust is just junk in high hp applications huge restriction, also made the turbo spool faster.....

Don't count on it. . . at all. The reason being that the way to get the turbo to spool faster is to increase load. Knife edging the crank counterweights doesn't to this, and the lightened driveshaft would tend to have the opposite effect. In reality however, whatever difference there would be would probably be negligible.

I was there when you took the exhaust off. What a difference that made !

You might change your mind in a couple months When are you gonna do the CNC head and new intake manifold?

In the next 2-3 weeks it should be all button up and ready for testing.

Good choice. The power these new t3 turbos are making are on par with the larger 4088 and have a better overall power curve.
