i have a pwr rad and had this problem. the upgrade caps cause more pressure and cause it to drop from the waterpump valve when driving.

I see.... so is this a good thing or a bad thing? Should I go back to my stock radiator cap?

Am I getting any benefits out of the Greddy high pressure radiator cap? aside from the added underhood bling?

My fluid would disappear in my 98 eclipse often. I figure it was just coming from the overflow tube. I never had a problem of overheating and always had fluid under the cap.

yes. i tried to find a diagram of it but cant. if you take the pully off the pump its on the housing right below the shaft. i see them leak all the time on some vehicles. alot with the newer 4 cyl toyotas.

So true I cant tell you how many 4 cyl Camry and Corolla water pumps we were doing there for awhile. Have seen to many here lately. But the Toyotas leak so slowly that you still never see the water level drop.

whatever it is ...treat this problem seriously...figure it out before you drive the car..

this happened to me as well and it was a blown HG..thing is..the car showed no symptoms of it for quite a while!

The cap might allow bypass into res before proper psi level. So during driving it fills the reservoir, gets dumped onto the road, you park and after cooling the remaining lossed qty gets sucked back into system.

i may be in same boat mine used some recently but no sign of leak i recently changed my coolant when doing a epm o2 dump it might have been jus tnot totally full after the swap, and about last yr this time my water pump blew the freeze plug off totally so dealership replaced the pump, i'll keep an eye on coolant level in overflow bottle hopefully not head gasket

I'd suggest you find someone who has a cap tester. If the gasket at the top isn't sealing, as you drive around, you are constantly dumping steam out through the cap.

Or, do what is more practical - buy a new pressure cap.

I have the same issue but Im running a cbrd slim rad. Ive pressure tested my system at school to 25 psi with no leaks bought a new cap to be sure and still have the issue. Also sometimes at idle it will start to over heat.

I think my issue is what C6C6Chevo described but also have a air bubble still in the system. Ive tried to bleed it out with the car idling but it hasn't come out yet.

I have a new thermostat waiting but Id like to just see if its a air bubble because I dont think the thermostat is bad.
