Boost Consistancy - Greddy Profec B-Spec II

So I've got the Greddy Profec B-Spec II and I notice I'm having some weird issues with it. It's not very consistent. Doesn't seem to want to hold boost in 1st and 2nd gears like it does in 3rd and above.

I know you'll never get 30 PSI in 1st gear on a stock 8 turbo, but right now I'm hitting roughly 22 psi max in 1st and almost 30 PSI max in 5th.

Currently I've got my settings as such:

Set: 75
Gain: 17
Start Boost: 0
Warning: 29.5 PSI
Limiter: 0.4%

If I decrease the Gain and Set, the car reacts better in lower gears (1&2) but doesn't respond as well in 3rd - 5th.

If I increase these settings I get more PSI in the higher gears but way less in the lower ones.

Can someone help me figure out what the hell is going on with this thing?

Thanks,

- Steve

Huh, set gain, I'm confused. I've seen this used before, I'm assuming you meant Set, and that's set at 75 right now

your set gain is pretty low. Try setting it closer to your spring in the wastegate

I've raised my SET up to 85 - 90 in the past, but I was also increasing the GAIN up to 20 and didn't get good results down low. I'll try just the SET GAIN and leave the GAIN to 14 where I had it before... Hopefully that works...

OK hold on. after you edit stuff or i read it i realized this. I am talking about the start boost. Leave everything where you had it and put the start boost to like 110-130. Me saying set gain i was referring to start boost

Okay here's what I've done:

Using both the LO and HI settings for DD

LO

SET: 100%
GAIN: 0
START BOOST: 0
WARNING: 29.5
LIMITER: 0.4

HI
SET: 80%
GAIN: 15
START BOOST: 0
WARNING: 29.5
LIMITER: 0.4

So the wastegate is completely open for the LO setting. I switch out of this in 3rd gear so I can limit myself to 29 PSI

Long lines will reduce and inhibit performance and consistencies. When I had my profec I had it as close to the solenoid as possible, as close as stock location.

Can we see some logs of a 1,2,3,4 run? I hope we know that the boost will not be the same in the upper gears due to load right?
