I see full boost about 4100 with my red....honestly buying a whole turbo kit with the hta30r your just wasting your money since a red well make more power all around and well see full boost sooner

A Red is a good turbo, but you need to run higher boost for it to be useful. You could try a 3076 or 35R, but it really depends on your driving style.

If you want something bolt on, get something like a Red. If you want tubular manifold and the works, get a full 30R or 35R kit. How much do you want to spend?

Budget isnt too much of a big deal but I don't want to go overkill... I'm interested in the FP Red but just interested in spool, what boost there running and power number vs. boost... Another thing is I was thinking about going with the ported and jet coated stock Buschur mani but idk how it is...

Have you looked at the CBRD BBK? It's more in line with your type of driving. Add that, cams, a FMIC and up your boost to around 24-26 and you should be close, if not there. Also an o2 housing and porting your exhaust manifold are inexpensive mods.

The Red will spool quicker than an HTA3076(.63 A/R), but make less power. I prefer a bit more power, but youre the one driving not me.

If you get a bolt on turbo, you can use the stock manifold or get something like an AFI or Full Race stock type manifold.

I second that notion. CBRD's BBK Full will get you what you want. Since your in NY and you want street action (stop sign to stop sign or stop light to stop light and cornering). This thing spools up almost like a stock turbo. Search it on the forum. So far, the numbers it puts out on pump 93 octane was around 420ish. This was on CBRD's dyno which is very very good. On a dyno jet, you'd see higher #s. (Chad step in anytime to correct anything I've stated that may be incorrect.

Manifolds:

Cast will spool up quicker, less top end
Tubular you will loose some spool but gain top end


Kind of a trade off between the two, spool and top end has alot to do with your other mods- cams,tune, obviously your turbo option!

Dude, if you're going outside of the stock turbo frame(ie green or red) or like you suggested you might(GT3076), then just go HTA3586. Buy one turbo kit and be done with it. Do the supporting mods. Don't do a 3076. 3076s are great turbos but you'll get more for basically the same buck with the HTA3586 kit.

Buy one kit and be done with it! I'm on my third turbo. Not becuase they broke, but because I underestimated the hunger.

I just received my FP Red today (Thanks Victor @ BVP!). I needed to do some stock replacement manifold testing and figured anyone that would pay $800+ for a manifold would already have a Red or atleast green

The turbo looks great and I'm anxiously awaiting to get it on the car! There is however alot of ignorance in this thread. I believe this turbo will flow more than a 3076r, so more power is there..however comparing apples to apples and not oranges, i dont' beleive it will out spool a T.S. 3076R. With the .78ar housing we're seeing peak tq from 3600-3800rpms with big runner tubular manifolds. I have not seen the Red do that, most i see are around 4200, which is still very impressive for the power potential of this turbo and its price point! T.S. 3076r = $$$$ no way around it. If the Red can make more power, have slightly more lag and destroy it with pricing and ease of adaptability...you would be a fool to buy a T.S. 3076R.
