Magnus 2.2 with knife edged crank, features billet aluminum rods and billet crank. Especially since the cosworth 2.2 longblock is 13,900 or so when you put it together (9300 for shortblock), and quality install and machine work plus the 5500 for the rotating assembly make it very affordable by comparison. Its only 7900 if you have Magnus assemble the shortblock, so thats 1400 you save to spend on beer.

You would be hard pressed to find a better built motor then a Magnus Motor! You don't run 6's by accident

The 2.2 kit comes with your choice of compression and aluminum or steel rods

Well i have to say that i am impressed by the Jun 2.2 stroker (it has cosworth pistons...)

Our friend Petros with his 9.0 sec Drag Evo VIII (check AMS threads) also uses the car for time attack events and its runs really strong.... Jun 2.2 stroker, Cosworth head, GT42 turbo kit, etc, etc...

Its all in the build!

Plenty of race engines run aluminum or Ti rods. There are no sprint car motors that I know of that arent running aluminum rods. The problem is around the 650-700whp level you start to pound bearings with steel rods. Aluminum soaks up alot and allows more power to be run longer. Add a bigger oil cooler to keep them happy, but I know of a drag engine or two that has run 12,000+ miles street and strip without even a stock oil cooler in all situations and hasnt failed yet.

The only 800+whp motors (that ran that amount during a race, IMSA Nissan 300ZX were rumored to qualify at 950+) that I can think of were in IMSA Grp C cars way back in the day and LeMans protos that were using massive downforce and massive tires. I am curious what the aero and wheel and tire package is for this?
