My car is shooting flames
Ok fellas I didn't have this problem until I put an Injen intake on my IV, I doubt this has anything to do with my problem but Im not running rich my AFR is between 14.2 to 14.7.
I have a HKS 3" TBE ,HKS fuel rail, 264/264 HKS cams,Injen intake, tubular manifold, ralli art ecu, hallman mbc and running 18 psi.
Anyway when im under heavy boost it's only happening on the 2-3 and 3-4 up shifts it will pop out a 2 foot flame at times from what I've been told. Im not sure if it's a back fire b/c there isn't a loud pop like you would assume there would be I could be wrong. The first few times it did it I thought it was cool now I think its ricey soo has this happened to anyone else? ANY help would be great!

depends on your tune, mine does it from time to time also. Mods in my sig. only started after my last two tunes and making better power. I figure it's just a sign that i should shift faster or maybe my latencies need work! LOL

I don't think flames are nessacerly ricey, unless you install one of those lame flame thrower kits. Now THAT's ricey. It's just a natural part of having a catless turbo car. You'll shoot a flame on occasion.
Now, if it has just started recenetly and randomly with every shift, then there must be a cause. Typcially richer AFR's will be the cause, but since you said they haven't changed, then I don't know :-/

low 12's are you kidding me? 12.0 is for like a race gas tune with supporting mods. Get tunned for a 11.2-11.8 a/f and you will be fine. Why even start a thread about ur car making a fireball?

Any richer than 14.7 there is no O2 available to support flames in the tailpipe.
In order to get fireballs at your 10 - 11:1 AFR O2 must be introduced another way i.e., ignition miss, post turbine exhaust leak, bouncing off fuel cut rev limiter, or O2 passing through at overlap (at lower rpm when boost is higher than turbine pressure).
