Is 30psi on stock turbo 2 much???

I have a customer that came in today, long story short he is running a meth kit and his boost is spiking to 30psi and holding at 27psi so.... I am taking bets as to how long this will last. Anyone run these kind of number on the stock turbo and still holding fine?

I would turn it up until you stop making power. After a certain psi you will be blowing hot air but if you can cool the charge with water inj it can compensate. I actually have not seen an IX turbo compressor map but the VIII turbo at something like 25 psi tapering to 21 falls right in the ~75% efficiency island - which is perfect.

What he getting any knock? If he was getting 0 counts of knock, then it should be fine.

I personally wont go over 28psi on the stock turbo (thats where I am now), but thats just me.

seems a little high too me, but if its making power still and not getting any knock, I say roll with it, til he kills it, then upgrade. How is he getting it to hold 27psi? upgraded waste gate? Also I would recommend that if he does any track days to lower the boost 2-3psi or add some 100 octane to the mix... he may not have knock on the dyno, at the strip or even during normal aggressive driving but during sustained RPM runs he might find problems. Oh and save up for that new turbo so that its not an oh sh*t surprise.

I'm running 33-34psi peak tapering down to 24psi at redline. Just checked for shaft play a few days ago and its solid. I have been running 30+psi for about 10k miles so far. Obviously there is still power to be made running as much boost as the turbo will allow with 100% wastegate duty cycle. Here's my dynosheet.

Hey do you mind listing your mods ? That is some serious horsepower on stock cams and stock turbo.

Congrats
