What doesnt make any sense to me is why you are saying for him to get a gt30r when that turbo has much more lag then stock when he could get a FP red which makes more power and a tiny bit more lag then stock. FP red is capable of making over 400whp on pump and over 500whp on race and has been proven to be capable of running 9's (which a 30r has yet to do) and it also retains the stock manifold and o2 housing as well as oil and coolant lines.

I'm looking for the same thing, but a 35R is a horrible choice.. I like the stocky, but I've heard that the 3076 with a .86 A/R does really well.. Plus I really like this kit

too bad i just dumped a load of money into an Exedy HD Twin, StopTech Fronts, Brembo GT rears and all stainless lines, other wise I would shoot for an FR RED

A 3076 will hit full boost at about 4200rpm in a single scroll T3 .63 hotside off boost its a bit soft and not as punchy as the stock frame turbos...

The best spoolin Turbo in the ATP kit is a GT3071R .63 hotside - it is capable of 450HP on the stock block stock ecu setup and doesn't taper like the stock hotside at high rpm.

hope that info helps you with your choice...

If I was staying stock block and could afford it I woul probably go FP Red with all the bolt-ons for 500HP.

there is no reason to go 3071R when you can stay stock housing...

the 30R and 35R are no fun on standard pump gas in my opinion... sure they will make good "peak" hp, but barely any torque... the car may feel fast over 5000 rpm, but ultimately on the street it will be slower then a properly built bolt on car or a car with stock housing.

if you REALLY want to go to a t3 style turbo kit or the sort, go with a stage 3 50 trim, or a variation of it.

thats just my two cents.

Agreed...

I take it the stock frame BBK would outperform the GT3071R on pump gas then?

thanks

This is so true. I recently took off my gt35r kit and installed the stocker back on with full bolt ons and recently cosworth m2s and the car is alot more fun on the street. The gt35r is only fun 26 psi and up and since i wasnt going to build the block anytime soon i didnt want it to be on the edge where something can happen. And since these days the stocker can see 420 on e-85 u dont need no big turbo to get to 450. But the BBK might be something he should be looking at!

here is an HTA 30R at 23.8 psi vs our BBK at 24.2 psi...

BBK is solid line

both cars had valvetrain upgrades, cossie cams, etc.. fmics...

it was about 25 degrees cooler for the BBK, but do you think that will bridge the gap? hee he..

Eat crow. This was back in mid summer weather. It's 30-40deg cooler now.

I ran 11.388@119.92mph and 11.39@120.38mph back when my car dyno'd 390whp on stock cams.

Next time do your homework before raising the BS flag.
