GT4094R Spool up
Hi, Has anyone used the Garrett GT4094R with the 1.19 A/R on a stock 2.0L Block? I wanted to know what the spool up was off the line. Was the Turbo very laggy and at what RPM does the turbo start to spool at?
I am thinking about buying a Garrett GT4094R but I am not sure what A/R would be best for all out drag racing 1/4 mile. Thanks

I would personally use a 1.06 or .95 housing for better spool, and make sure its with a twin scroll. Spool should be around 4800-5200. Do you already have a manifold or are you buying a complete kit?

I was planning to purchase my parts individually and put my build together. I was considering getting AMS Intake and Exhaust Manifolds with a 40mm Synapse Wastegate.
I will be using an Apexi PowerFC De-Jetro ECU for engine management.

Why do you say that? What Injector setup do you think would be best and do you have any experience with the PowerFC De-Jetro? The PowerFC can control at least 8 Injectors if not more if I am not mistaken. Let me know what u think.

How much performance/manageability difference do you think using a twin rail Manifold would make to my build as oppose to using a single rail setup with my PowerFC De-Jetro? I am not quite sure about the logistics of how it works e.g actually connecting the second fuel rail to my fuel line and the injectors to my ECU.

I wouldn't even think about running this turbo on a stock block. You would be much better off running either a standard 35R or an HTA. Either of those units are capable of maxxing out the stock block and then some..

I just sold my 4094r that was on my honda, I was going to put it on my evo but after seeing many dyno graphs and hearing alot of "horror" stories. I decided to just go with a twin scroll 35R with a 1.04 ar. So it will have plenty of spool and great top end power.

I'd also consider the Borg Warner S366. cheaper, capable of just as much power, spools well for it's size.

Funny, I've seen the exact opposite. Local DSMer had a 4088R, swapped to the 4094R, barely noticed a change in spool and gained decent power. He's currently running the FP HTA88 which outspools and outpowers both of them though.
