https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...oler-week.html
but i noticed that there totally different.Heres a pic of theone my friend has(brand new btw)
which looks like this one.theres no couplers or brackets though.
any idea on this intercooler?is it worth putting on my car?would i be able to use the stock IC piping?thank you!@

Chris is right the one in the posted picture is an XS Engineering IC not an XS Power (Chinese). I have the XS Engineering and I love it. Quality tube and fin and it can take a beating. Yes, it completly fits with the stock piping, flows better, and cools better then stock. Since he doesn't have the couplers, pick up some quality 2.5 inch couplers. They will fit will. Pick up some steel bar for brackets and the right bolts for the threaded holes on the end tanks.
If you don't do it send your buddy my way and I'll install those springs for it. Don't fear if it's really a XS Engineering IC, then it's great quality.

Initially looking it almost looks bar and plate but then you can see the rounded tubes.
Some things I notice specifically about the one pictured are the fin density. Reminds me of the fin count on a powerstroke diesel. That's not a compliment. The welds on the tanks look like garbage. Our shop would hack tanks welded like that off or trash the whole core. And last, straight in, on the bottom, straight out, on the bottom, tubes, so no turbulators. Ok, so 85% of the airflow is going through the bottom 5 rows of tubes and the top never sees any flow. Does anyone think that air likes to make hard turns to fill spaces when it can go straight through? Air, even under pressure still takes the path of least resistance.
The welding is not good. The design is horrible. The core is no better than factory. I think an IC like that might actually be worse than stock. I can't see if there is a splitter at the inlet to direct flow, but, I'm going out on a limb and saying no.
My opinion of the XSpower core are about the same. The core is not vacuum braised, the end tank design compliments a straight across flow rather than complete flow.
I'll shut up now. My opinions on this matter are jaded.
