Reliable Horsepower Numbers
I have an 06 GSR with ETS 3.5" intercooler and pipe, 3" TBE, 3" DP, HKS 272 Cams, ARP Headstuds, 1000cc Injectors, Walbro 255 lph, FP red Turbo, exedy twin disc HD and an 02 housing. I was just wanting to know what is the max horsepower that I should get it tuned to to retain the maximum reliability on the stock motor (tuned on 93 octane). I daily drive the car and it only has 5k miles on the car. I want the car to last for well over 60k miles so what is considered SAFE? I want the car to be decent but I want it to be 100% reliable and able to be taken anywhere anytime.
Also, would a meth kit hurt ot help making it more reliable?

There's not really a certain number that's more reliable than another; 300hp could be unreliable if not tuned properly. Just make sure you get a safe tune with no knock from a reputable tuner and you'll be good to go.

There really is no "safe limit". What will determine the longevity of your cars life will be the parts you use, the way you drive, how often you boost, how well you take care of the car etc. Theres way too much to consider to come up with an answer, but I can tell you that from my experience, these cars are pretty reliable.
I bolted on a pt61 at 70,000 miles and made 402awhp, and since then have done a few bolts ons and I think im more in the 430 range now. My odometer reads somewhere around 87,000 right now, and she still runs great.
The #1 factor that is going to make your car more reliable is your tune. If your tune is done right, and has no knock at all, and is at a good afr it will last a good long time. I did a lot of research in tuning evos, and when I took mine to get tuned, I watched everything the guy did to my car. When he was done I looked it over and made sure it looked 100%, and asked tons of questions.

I felt pretty confident in my car at 500ish awhp on pump gas with a good tune on the stock shorty. Quite a few people pushed it way beyond that but I didn't want to risk it being my daily driver.

MELLON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there is a good tuner right there lol. Hey i worked a deal out with PPI to give me a ported intake and 65mm T/B plus they will port my red for 710 shipped. so im gonna take that since i have to take everything off to change to my br stage 3 head anyways. now to find a water pump .
but on with the topic just get a GOOD tune and quality products and you will be fine. when in doubt find you a tuner like i did and ask TONS TONS of questions i know i did.

i just dont know what shes gonna want, ill find out once we start tuning again.
i have the money for the built shorty/head, im just one of those idiots that want to keep pushing the limits to see how far it can go
but for the amount i drive the car (1k to 1.5k/year) and i really dont rev the hell out of except at the track, so im hoping that helps a little! lolol

what STM did with the stock shorty (low 10's) should ease your mind a little...of course they eventually blew it up but it lasted for quite a few passes. They said a missed shift did it in, not sure why that would cause it unless they didn't have a rev limiter.
